Qualification of Artisan Food Companies
Companies that comply with certain specific characteristics and that undertake one of the activities in the list of artisan food trades are deemed to be artisan businesses. These characteristics are as follows:
- Personal responsibility and management of the production process of a qualified artisan product.
- Predominantly manual production process. A certain degree of mechanisation is permitted.
- Family-type structure, although additional workers may be employed.
- Mandatory compliance with the corresponding technical sanitary regulations (RTS).
Food artisan cards are valid for five years and are renewable for successive five-year periods.
